The America's Rifle Challenge (ARC) presented by the National Rifle Association establishes an organized venue for owners of centerfire semi-auto rifles or pistol caliber carbines to test their skills across the domains of marksmanship, manipulations, and mental management.
Clubs and ranges across the nation will run local approved matches in a decentralized manner.There will be structure for state, regional, and national level matches. There will be a standardized methodology of skills evaluation, with a level degree of match difficulty.
The rifle must be safe and serviceable, mechanical safeties must be present and functional. Rifles must be .223/5.56mm through 308/7.62mm. Rifle must accept a detachable box magazine of a minimum 10 round capacity. 1 and 2 point slings are allowed and must be attached to the rifle. You will need at least 200 rounds of ammo (no bi metal), and 4 magazines and a means to carry them. You will need eye and ear protection, and since we are in the desert, sensible shoes and clothing. Water and light snacks will be provided.
ARC targets shall be the NRA B8 bullseye, USPSA metric cardboard, VTAC-CB or VTAC-P and assorted steel targets, predominately 12" diameter , at the discretion of the match director.
Qualified, Journeyman and Master will be the classifications. There will be Level 1 and Level 2 matches
Stock class: One sighting system, no magnification
Limited class: Two sighting systems Up to 8 power
Open class: Three sighting systems, up to 18 power
